Why I love being a wedding photographer at Ruthin Castle, North Wales

Nestled in the picturesque North Wales countryside, Ruthin Castle is the epitome of history and romance. A wedding venue that exudes charm, elegance, and a touch of magic, Ruthin Castle is situated within the glorious Clwydian Range in North Wales and is the perfect backdrop for creating unforgettable wedding photography– one of the many reasons I love being asked to shoot weddings at this venue!

Ruthin Castle, North Wales

Ruthin Castle boasts a rich history that dates back to the 13th century. Originally built by Dafydd, the brother of Prince Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, the castle’s architecture is a mesmerising blend of medieval and Victorian styles, with its imposing stone walls, majestic turrets, and stunning gardens. It really is a dream venue for me as a wedding photographer!

The castle features a variety of rooms and suites, each exquisitely designed to blend modern comfort with the castle’s historical charm. From four-poster beds to original period features, every room at Ruthin Castle is a testament to luxury and elegance. This makes it the perfect place for the bridal party to prepare and for newlyweds to retreat to after their memorable day. I’ve captured some beautiful wedding photography during bridal prep at Ruthin Castle.

Outside, the lush gardens, well-maintained lawns, and serene moat surrounding the castle provide an enchanting backdrop for your ceremony and wedding photography. Couples can exchange their vows in a charming courtyard or within the grand hall adorned with chandeliers and historic tapestries.

Ruthin Castle prides itself on offering a personalised wedding experience in the heart of the North Wales countryside. Their dedicated wedding team is committed to making your dreams come true, from helping you plan the details to coordinating the big day itself. The castle’s stunning surroundings also make it an excellent base for exploring the natural beauty of North Wales, adding to the enchantment of your wedding weekend.

Ruthin Castle’s rich history, luxurious accommodation, and stunning grounds all combine to create a dream wedding experience. If you’ve ever dreamt of a fairytale wedding, Ruthin Castle is the venue for you, surrounded by centuries of history and the promise of a happily ever after.

If you are considering getting married at this beautiful venue in North Wales and would like to chat about wedding photography on your big day, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’m a wedding photographer in North Wales and Cheshire; I’m experienced in shooting weddings at Ruthin Castle and would be thrilled to be part of your wedding day.
